To save time we ask that athletes arrive with their swimsuits on under their clothes if possible. This will save time when we get to the facility.

I will be communicating to everyone via email and WhatsApp during the day of the event. If your athlete will be riding with the team and you have already joined our Raleigh Racers Swim Team WhatsApp Community I have added you to the 2026 Southeast Swim Meet Group. If you don’t know how to join our WhatsApp community please see me at practice.

For those that are driving your athlete, please review the parking information carefully. For all delegation members please display the parking pass (click here to download), on the dashboard of your car.  Spectators (non-registered members of the delegation) will have to pay $5 per car for parking upon arrival and they will only take cashless (electronic) forms of payment. There will be a Gymnastics tournament going on the same day so please follow the parking attendance instructions on where to park.

Facility Information

You will enter the facility through the side door, not the main entrance (indicated by 1 in the picture above). When you walk through the doors, head upstairs to the seating area (indicated by 5). The Raleigh Racers/Wake County will be seating in Section 4 H-L. Please see the seating diagram below for more information. If you have issues finding where we are sitting please call, text or WhatsApp me.

There are NO coolers or chairs with legs allowed in the facility. However, you may bring a bleacher seat/cushion. The facility has a clear bag policy with the exceptions of athletes and coaches. The GAC pool bag policies can be found here. The aquatic center is a completely cashless facility and will only take credit/debit, apply or google pay.

Parents/Coaches are not allowed in the athletes changing rooms. If athletes need help with changing Family changing rooms are located on the recreation pool deck in between the male and female locker room entrances and in the corridor between the back desk and training pool entrance. The facility rules can be found here. If there are any questions please don’t hesitate to ask

Things to Pack

Try and pack a single bag with everything they will need. We are only going to be gone for a day so no need to pack the kitchen sink. You can also visit What to Bring to a Swim Meet for more information.

  • Swim suit (if not already wearing)
  • Goggles
  • Swim cap
  • Black Raleigh Racers t-shirt (or another shirt if they don’t have one).  You can also bring a pair of shorts if you would like (darker basketball/sports shorts work the best when wearing them over a wet suit).  Bring a small bag they can take these clothes down to staging and can have them on when they reach awards (a plastic grocery bag will be fine).
  • Deck shoes (crocks, flops, etc) – The will need something to wear to staging and to awards.
  • Towel(s)
  • Water Bottle!
  • Mask, if you are immunocompromised.
  • Shower items
  • Change of clothes if not wearing the same clothes they traveled to the meet in,
  • We will have some snacks, G2 and water but feel free to pack a favorite snack.
  • Make sure the athlete brings something to do during travel and downtime (headphones, puzzles, book, games, etc)
  • Medication – If your athlete has to take medication please bring it and have it labeled for the coach. It is better if the medication is in the original bottle with the dosage and the times.

Athlete Staging

Athletes will compete in the competition pool located inside the main facility. Awards will take place outside between the training pool and the main facility.

When an athlete’s event is called for staging, a coach will take the athlete downstairs to the staging room. It is very important that athletes wear deck shoes, Crocs, or flip‑flops when walking to staging. We also recommend bringing a small grocery bag with a towel, shirt, and shorts for the athlete to wear during awards.

When staging is ready, athletes will be escorted to their assigned lane for competition.

  • 25‑yard and 15m events will start at the end of the pool closest to the spectator seating.
  • All other individual events will start from the far end of the pool.

After the race, athletes will move to preliminary staging for awards on the pool deck. When it is time, they will be escorted outside to receive their award. After receiving their award, athletes will return to our delegation seating area.

If an athlete has back‑to‑back events, they will be pulled from awards staging so they can report to their next race. They will be able to receive the award from their previous event the next time they go through awards.
