Lake Norman Hammerhead Swim Invitational

Location: Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatic Center (HFFA) located at 11725 Verhoeff Drive, Huntersville, NC
Date/Time: March 15th, 2025 First race begins at 9:00am.

General Meet Information

To save time we ask that athletes arrive with their swimsuits on under their clothes if possible. This will save time when we get to the facility. Athletes should wear the Wake County team suit if they have one.

This is a super early day so please make sure your athlete has something to eat in the morning or pack something so they can take with them and eat on the way. Also, it would be a good idea to pack them a snack of their choice.

The meet will provide lunch and snacks for athletes, coaches and team chaperones.

Each athlete will have a chance to swim up to 3 individual events and for those that are registered as level 2 or level 3 athletes may be able to participate in a relay.

USA Swim Rules will be used for all races, however the purpose of this event is for the athletes to LEARN. This is a perfect meet for new swimmers or repeat swimmers to learn and prepare for future invitationals. With that said, regardless of the infraction, athletes will not be disqualified. A list of disqualifications notes will be sent to the head coach after the race so we can discuss with the athletes.

See What to Bring to a Swim Meet for more information on what the athlete should pack for a swim meet. The athlete should bring items to keep them occupied during downtime. Headphones are recommended for the car ride so they can listen to music or watch a video on their tablet/phone. It is important the athlete be in charge of the items that they bring. The coaches will remind athletes to get all their belongings when transitioning between the car and venue.

Valid parking areas for the Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatic Center are the HFFA East Parking Lot, Huntersville Athletic Park, Huntersville Ball Park, CPCC CJ Lot, Meck County LUESA North or CPCC TS Lot.

Meet Roster and Registered Events

The following athletes will be registered for the meet. The events will be added once they have been registered. If this is incorrect please let me know no later than February 27th.

Schedule

Athletes that are not taking transportation with the team must be at HFFA no later than 8:30am as we need to get the athletes arms marked and ready for competition. Please see parking map for valid parking locations.

For those athletes taking transportation with the team we will meet at the SONC Office (2200 Gateway Centre Blvd # 201, Morrisville, NC 27560) no later than 5:40am as we would like to depart between 5:45am-6:00am. The SONC office will be open if athletes need to use the restroom.
